Understanding – tools for getting an understanding of the current situation from the perspective of your potential users or customers and other stakeholders

This stage is about discovering different and new perspectives on the subject of your project through insightful research. This is a crucial moment since it will allow you to be more empathic with your potential users, better understand the stakes of your project and find some unexpected sources of inspiration that will be fundamental for the next stages.

You will find two big groups of understanding tools:

• Gathering tools: tools that mainly aim at collecting information about the context and users in link to your project
• Making sense tools: these are tools that will allow you to synthesise and make sense of all the information you know about the subject, users and context that concern your project
